I've been looking for a strong, light weight and easy to transport car ramp for our aging collie for a long time. There are many ramps but they show no use with a normal car side door. Most of them feature photos of a ramp used on the back of a large pickup truck, or with sliding doors in a van or SUV. The 62" PetSafe Happy Ride Folding Pet Ramp is a perfect fit for our Nissan Sentra. We also use a pet hammock in the back seat to prevent our dog from falling to the floor of the back seat during our drives. The hammock also supports the top left side .I also bought a harness system that hooks from the side door frame of the car to the top ramp for support but with the hammock I found I didn't need a harness.Our dog is 79lbs and the ramp is 100% solid and safe. Yes, the tread is rough (I could easily file my nails on it), but that doesn't seem to bother my dog at all. Her paw pads don't We tried to make our own ramp, which she didn't want to use, she was wobbly and difficult to fit snugly in the doorway but the PetSafe ramp fits just right and is long enough not to get too snug in the car.Very happy with mei a purchase!
