Like removing lint from a dryer screen. Much better than the original. See photo!

I would have preferred this filter to the original that came with iRobot. This one has a mesh screen on one side which the original doesn't have. It keeps all the dust out of the grooves and MUCH easier to clean. It's like removing the lint from a dryer screen, it's removed instantly.
