I think my Dyson vacuum is a little dated and it wasn't clearly stated that the reel would fit this model but it fitted perfectly. When I noticed that my Dyson wasn't picking up as well as it used to, it was because most of the black fibers had come loose from the rollerbar. (My house has a lot of long hair that tangles around it!) Replaced the roller bar with this one and it works again. Maybe too good? It pulls down smaller rubber-backed mats so hard that the roller bar is disabled by default. Maybe I need to raise the floor a bit more to let in more air? That's why it lost a star. I have to constantly re-install the vacuum cleaner when cleaning kitchen rugs to get the roller bar working again. If you're just using this on a hard floor, it shouldn't be a problem.
