DO NOT WASH! -- Updated

I have been using duvets for many years. I sleep badly and need warmth and lots of blankets to sleep well. My wife is a heavy sleeper and usually sheds her duvet in the middle of the night and uses a light duvet instead. I bought it because it was washable and was hoping it could provide the warmth and comfort I like without overheating my wife. I have to say that the first night with this blanket was the best sleep I've had in years. I feel heavy and warm, but she's not hot. It's not as plump and thick as a good duvet, but that's a plus for us. If you want a washable comforter but don't want faux fur, I highly recommend it. dried my blanket on the "Wool" program and the "Extra Gentle" program and ended up with a clumpy and crumpled useless piece of junk. It went from "best ever" to "not good enough for a guest bed". DON'T WASH! Chemical cleaning! A new update on March 11, 2014 from Sleep and Beyond replaced the comforter with a new washable version. The new blanket is different from the original but just as beautiful. I washed it and there were no problems. The wearing comfort has improved and the blanket is softer than when it was new. I recommend double checking the packaging to ensure you are receiving the washable version of this duvet.
