As mentioned, this doesn't look like the picture here or on the Dewalt website. The item in the photo clearly does not exist. The tapered end is 2 1/16" long and ends before reaching a large taper on most common applications. If you want to use it for 2.5" OD adapters like this one, Shop-Vac 906-87 -00 Universal Tool Adapter or Shop-Vac 906-87-00 -vac 906-85 Conversion Block 2-1/2" to 1 -1/4" or WORKSHOP Wet/Dry Vac Adapter WS25055A Workshop Wet/ Dry vacuum adapter combo kit, you will need to cut the saw about 3/4" from the end. After cutting it off it now fits snugly and provides a tight friction in my 2 1/2" OD bits. Docked 2 stars for the extra work.
