My son has chubby feet so many shoes leave marks on his foot. We were lucky that we got velcro shoes with double straps so we could easily undo the straps. However, our favorite shoe, the Stride Rites, has had a major makeover to its shoe line this year, with all shoes now being too narrow (no more toe box). After countless purchases and returns, we've finally found one that suits us. My son likes shoes with good flexibility in the toe area, so a lot of shoes fell out just because the sole was too stiff. Other boots had portions of the toe sewn on, leaving marks on his feet after walking around the house for a few minutes. These boots have a soft upper and when you put your hand inside, the tongue is snug against the top of the boot.
