If, like me, you regularly go through metal detectors and security checks but want to avoid the hassle of removing your belt, this is your answer . For years I've been stopped at sporting events, concert halls, amusement parks, etc. because my full-size belt buckle "beeped" on a metal detector. I pointed to the belt buckle and they either confirmed it with a stick in hand or waved at me. Now you might be thinking "why don't you just take the belt off"? Who wants to go through that when there are dozens if not hundreds or thousands of people behind you? You've emptied your pockets, shed your watch, but the things you can put in your pocket and then handle, the belt is an eyesore. Why bother with it at all? You don't have to, it's your new belt. It holds your pants. Doesn't slip, the clasp holds tight. Speaking of the buckle, I was skeptical at first but to be honest this thing is nice and durable. I'm between sizes of these straps so I had to cut off a significant portion, you simply use the weave of the strap to line yours with scissors and trim off the excess leaving a bit of excess (about a quarter to a half inch) . ) to join the end. It takes a lighter or candle and a bit of skill to melt the end, but if you keep the strap moving you can line it up with the weave fairly easily. I used nail polish to smooth out the melted area, but this isn't necessary depending on how good you are with the lighter. Update: 9/12/21 Still my favorite belt. The black has faded over the years but I still haven't opened a replacement so yes.
