Update one year later: We used this blanket in the Northern California winter without heating. That worked great for us. It's very warm and fluffy. The only thing that confuses a little is the crumpled lid. It seems that there is some kind of coating inside to keep the feathers from sticking out. I'm allergic to dust and should be careful about the bedding I use. This blanket has never given me any symptoms and I have not seen it lose a single feather. But I would like the manufacturer to use more protectors without an inner coating. Original: If you're thinking of buying an all-weather quilt for summer, don't. I did this. I read reviews that it has little lint on the inside when viewed against the light and thought it would be perfect for warm weather. Although this description is correct, the blanket is very warm. We have tried sleeping under it now (June) and no it's too hot at night. Northern California would be great for winter. We love heavyweight cotton comforters, but if you want your linens to be super soft, this probably won't work for you. Also, we always use duvet covers and you will definitely need a cover for this one, the face fabric is not the softest material you want to be in contact with your skin. The goods are qualitatively made, the purchase is satisfied. Will will keep it until cold weather sets in.
