I'm new to tai chi and this is my first ruler. Without experience of other rules to compare this to, I have to say that I'm satisfied with the product. In terms of size, weight, and design, it is as advertised. While some reviewers had complaints about the condition of the product, the ruler I received was fine -- it was clean and had no marks on it.I only have two complaints about the ruler, both fairly minor. One end of the ruler isn't quite finished. It's not so rough as to be unusable, but it's noticeable enough that I plan to sand it down and oil it. The other issue is that I didn't get a carrying bag like the one shown in the product description. To be fair, it's not something I need; I only mention it for shoppers who might want such a bag.Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase, especially since I got a small discount on it. Experienced tai chi practitioners might disagree, but this is pretty much what I was hoping for and I look forward to learning how to use it properly.
