Didn't expect that

The first router didn't work for me, it didn't recognize the T-Mobile SIM card. I spent about 3 hours with T-Mobile support only to find that the SIM card was fine, so it was the router. Sent it back, got a replacement, put in the SIM card and it worked right away! Results: In a very congested area (Port of Everett, WA, Marina), I experience a 7 Mbps slowdown. My boat is surrounded by thousands of other large boats (it's the largest marina on the west coast) so the speed is quite normal. However, as soon as I hit the water in Puget Sound, I get a consistent 25Mbps+. I've tried it up north around the San Juan Islands and it's proven to be the 5-10Mbps champ! Couldn't believe he could do this but it works really well with no glitches so far. Reason for 4 stars: 1. The first device was DOA, that's a QA2 issue for me. It charges very slowly, takes at least 4-5 minutes3 to charge. No real support other than user forums and online documentation, which admittedly isn't bad; However, in cases like #14, a phone call can help. Two clicks are required to save the settings. So don't trust the "Saved" window after changing the values. You'll need to go back and review the changed settings to make sure they were saved. In my case, the router UI can only save one setting at a time, which is time consuming but not a deal breaker. My $0.02: This little gem is a true budget champion, packed with features (and even a VPN). The most amazing thing is that the speed it offers is only CAT4 which is amazing for the money. Versatility, features and SPEED are what I really like. Disadvantages are manageable.
