I bought two rolls to lay out an old Craftsman box I was restoring for my son. In the end I didn't use it. Here's why: 1. He was incredibly fragile and couldn't keep still. (Double-sided tape could have been used, but no.) 2. It's very thin, almost identical to the 9x11 colored foam sheets you can buy at any art supply store in the kids' section, except it comes on a roll. Main reason? It got INCREDIBLY dirty almost immediately, long before I touched its surface with a tool. It literally picks up dust and dirt, just like the Swiffer. We all know that tools need to be cleaned before they are put away, but nobody needs an insert that gets so dirty it can't be cleaned. Overall 10/10 will not buy again (by agreement). I'm sure it would be great for covering a litter box or something, but definitely not for a tool box. Your best bet is to buy a rubber floor mat (Climatex makes a good 36" x 6') and cut it into pieces. It's much more durable and you can take it out and wash it to your heart's content.
