Review on πŸ’¦ Watts Premier Permeate Pump: Complete Install Kit for Optimal Performance (Model 560041) by Joe Bottomkent

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It works well, easy to install, but the description on Revain and elsewhere sucks.

Just received and installed this pump. It's audible during operation, but not that annoying. It fills my tanks (only 13.2 gallons) very quickly. I have pressure gauges on the water supply and on the tank. A 50 gallon a day system would take forever to fill the tanks after exceeding 10psi. My TDS is now 3ppm higher and I don't know why. I'll know more when he's done filling the tanks. I have TDS at zero pressure on the diaphragm 9-10ppm and now 12-14. The tanks are still filling up. It was unexpected to find out that the description doesn't say what comes with this system. I took the initiative and went to a real shop to prepare to install this on a reverse osmosis collector. (that is different). I received a 3/8" tee, a 3/8" line plug (to plug one of the ports needed to add this pump to a reverse osmosis manifold), 2 short lines 1/4" and 2 3/8" x 1/4" fittings for permeate connections between RO and pump. EVERYTHING you need to install this pump is included. WARNING: The instructions for installing this pump on a manifold system are dated 2004 and not from the Watts website. To my knowledge the configuration in the instructions will not work as the finished product would need to be run through the pump in reverse. The most up to date instructions are on the Watts Premiere website and you will need to use one of the fittings on the manifold with the provided stopper and some 3/8" tubing you provide. I checked out while the tanks were still full. I was getting 2 gallons per minute from reverse osmosis ehahn. I have never seen a reverse osmosis system with so much pressure. That alone is worth it. One of the downsides for me with an RO system is that you can typically get 1 to 1-1/2 gallons per minute out of the reverse osmosis faucet when the tank is full, and that's usually just enough for the first gallon. Remember that 2 GPM is higher with a 40psi tank than with this pump. The pump shuts off when the pressure in the tank equals the pressure in the drain line, which is normally equal to the incoming water pressure. Update: This pump brought my tank pressure to 65psi. (Line pressure is 68 psi). The water output from the reverse osmosis faucet was 3 gallons per minute. Filled a liter jar in 20 seconds. Can't ask for better, especially for something that compares so cheaply to a booster/pressure pump that doesn't require power. The only downside is that I wish it was quiet, that would be perfect. I highly recommend this if you are unhappy with the performance of your reverse osmosis/waste water/water usage.
