In keeping with the time of our house around 1900, we didn't need any curtains or blinds. It was just what we needed. I measured twice and added an inch all around. I washed the windows about 3 times as it was said that gluing requires clean windows. I sprayed a lot of water soap mixture on the window. I pulled about half the backing out of the film. And worked from top to bottom. This project is all about patience. Once the top was glued I removed the rest and glued the rest of the film to the window. Then I made sure all the air bubbles were out. I trimmed the edges using a utility knife and the plastic piece that came with the kit. The plastic part makes it easy to follow and trim. I wiped the remaining water off the window and that's it! I also did it alone because I think the other person would just get in the way. Oh, and a few others here talk about how difficult it was to separate the background from the film. I used a very thin nail and it came off with no problems.
