I was hoping to use these anchors to attach 3/4" wide batten strips to the wall but the screws are too short to catch the pins, when fastening thicker material. Anchors can be useful for metal staples, but I wouldn't plan to use them to fasten something half an inch thick. The material is also surprisingly weak - be careful, pull the anchor bolt finger tight only and stop as soon as you meet resistance.Tightening a little further will dislodge the hook mechanism and in one instance break the lever that latches onto the back of the drywall. That was when I hand tightened gently, so expect that some of them don't fail when installed. (Fortunately, unlike pry bolts, they can be removed and replaced.)
