I got this because my rabbit will be lying on my kitchen floor in the summer and not another carpeted area. It looked like normal fabric. I put the rug on the kitchen floor and my rabbit immediately lay down on it. So I guess no matter how cool the mat is actually, my rabbit still uses it. However, I later found that after my rabbit lay on it, the mat is still relatively cool compared to a rug. That's why my rabbit loves it. And it's great that it comes with 2 rugs. So I put another one on the carpet in my room and it became one of my rabbit's favorite spots too. I was afraid my rabbit would chew it up, but so far so good.
