Review on Knipex 8801180 7 Inch Alligator Pliers by Brian Diaz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Same Òle Knipex - hand tool

Whole. I've heard and read many times that we "pay import duties" on imported tools like Knipex and Wera, and that may be partly true, but I don't agree. I have several of the same size and different sizes of adjustable pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, hammers, ratchets, etc. from this and many other manufacturers. Knipex performed best of all. I had a pair of Milwaukee & Greenlee pumping pliers in the same bag as my 10" version, which had a thin, even layer of rust, while the Knipex had a light stain. I'm not a civil or metallurgical engineer, so IMO this is the 'better' steel (it's vanadium). The narrow center neck fits into tighter spaces and grips better than the competition. 5 times a week and still taking them before new ones just because they work BETTER.

Pros
  • Suitable for shop, home or service use
Cons
  • Slightly torn
