This spindle is not finished correctly, the cold water rubber washer is not countersunk and sits too high on the spindle. The cold water washer contacts the cold water seat long before the hot water rubber washer contacts the hot water seat. The result is excessive pressure on the cold water purifier, causing it to burst after about a dozen on/off cycles. Look closely at the spindle and make sure the cold water washer is slightly recessed at the end. If not, then you also have a defective spindle. Compare to the one you are replacing. This defect caused me a lot of extra work. The good news is that the seller refunded my purchase price. The o-ring in the cold water seat is too large. Compare it to the one you are replacing. The problem this creates is that it causes too much friction on the spindle and causes the seat to loosen. After several dozen uses, the seat moves with the spindle and the water flow is blocked by the balance piston. The seat cannot be tightened enough as it has four flat disassembly/assembly points. Newer Symmons seats use 6 removal/installation points. Conclusion: It was a nightmare because of defective parts. I replaced them all with Symmons parts.
