I ordered a set from another company and it was defective. So I ordered a kit from this company and indeed they have the same defect. The problem is that one opens smoothly and the other doesn't. I noticed that after disassembly they were drilled out off center and could be fully opened. Having a machine shop allowed me to drill the hole properly and repair it myself, saving me $200 on ordering from the dealer. I noticed 3 things: 1. The rubber is glued on. After attaching them I added Gorilla Glue to the tops and pressed them back in so they would last forever. 2. The area where they drilled will be cut off, but that can be fixed. 3. When you install them, the bottom screws will fit snugly, so you can slide them down and install the top screw. Once you've done that, you can't 100% tighten the bottom bolts until torque is reached. This is normal as I check for loose nuts and bolts about every 1000 miles or so.
