Bought a pair to try on at the recommendation of several hunters. They appear to be really good quality socks and seem to have great support, but hiking socks are not. The pair I received did not have a flat seam in the toe area. Just as I was putting them on to test the fit, I could feel the corner stitching rubbing against my pinky fingers and big toes along the edge. I've had issues in the past with hot spots that disappeared as soon as I put on flat-seam socks. They can be great everyday socks or regular work socks but I could never trust them in the country. Also, they are a little rough compared to other brands of merino wool hiking socks I've had. It might not be that bad for some, but anything that can rub can ruin a good hike. Almost half the price, my Big Box Wool Socks for Life are more comfortable and contain a higher percentage of wool. While I don't recommend them for hiking, I would feel more confident in them on a long hike than these Darn Toughs. Overall I think their socks are better than these for almost the same price.
