I bought this product to switch 2 pairs of speakers in the garage and yard. I knew the Pyle brand. The first time I pressed the safety button it got stuck and wouldn't pop out again. I disassembled the device and noticed that the main circuit board is only attached to the back of the device, allowing the front of the circuit board to pivot up. This caused the buttons on the front to get stuck. Two screws were missing to attach the front of the board. I bought two screws to attach the board but found that one of the screw holes on the board was covered in solder! I removed the solder and installed both screws. Now that the circuit board is in place, all the buttons are stuck because the faceplate isn't aligned with the switches. I tweaked the holes in the bezel a bit to make it work properly. The block is now working properly. There seems to be confusion about the function of the protect button. When the protect button is pushed, the amplifier is constantly stressed, like adding another pair of speakers. As long as it is selected, the amp will be loaded even if no other speaker buttons are selected. This can prevent damage to the amplifier when the amplifier is operated at high volume and the speaker buttons are not selected. This is an extra load on the amp, so keep that in mind. I recommend turning the amp volume down to minimum before choosing a pair of speakers. My block is working fine now. Now he does what he says. Most of the people faced with the poor quality of this device would not take the time to fix it. I don't know if my block had typical build quality or if it was a single block that was assembled incorrectly.
