Review on Ernst Manufacturing - 960-Orange 960 Greg's Oil Filter Funnel, Orange - Drip-Free Solution by Joshua Coulter

Finally; Oil pan that works!

A few years ago I bought this version from a Harley shop because they said it would work but it wouldn't even fit under an oil filter! This one fit perfectly. (Out of habit, I put a paper towel underneath). Be sure to follow the instructions or you will spill oil from the filter! The illustrations in the instructions are colorful and very clear. First, completely drain the oil from the engine and drain pan while the engine is warm. Place an Ernst drain pan under the filter and use the nail provided at the bottom of the oil filter (top at 12pm) and loosen the filter a half turn until that hole is at the bottom and drain COMPLETELY (I have used an awl to do this). Enlarge the hole for faster draining). DO NOT screw too tight! If the filter gasket separates from the filter holder, oil will flow through the engine. As soon as the filter stops dripping, unscrew and remove - done! My paper towel catches any remaining small drips. Simple but effective product, thank you!
