The base is a flat, heavy plate with a small screw in a piece of plastic to hold the monitor in place. It has small notches that were meant to match on purpose, which should be fine, but the screw is flimsy and won't turn all the way in, so I secured the slot in mine with various things so I could use the monitor instead of just reconnecting it put in. because the monitor is great. Suks base. You cannot replace the base. You won't find a replacement on Revain or the Samsung websites. The assembly is specific. So if you want it to stand up properly and there's a chance you'll move it from one place to another, don't buy this model.
