I only bought this product two years ago. Then it was $80. It's only been about a year since they released the latest firmware. I thought everything was fine. It turned out to be the last firmware they ever intended to release. When I got a new modem this week, I noticed that my internet wasn't working properly when connected to my router. Cisco Linksys demanded money for the support. (A fact they mentioned after they deleted my contact details. I can't wait to see what happens.) When I refused, they tried to sell me a new router to replace my "outdated" device substitute. No thank you. Essentially, they wanted more money for a device they knew would mean "the end of life." I have to wonder if I paid and they didn't make money for me what would happen with the refund. I ordered this for the price of a phone call to Cisco Linksys Support: TP-Link TL-R860 http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003CFATSS/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 time. (If I don't, I consider myself insanely happy with it.) Update: This is great. The ease of use and the security features of the admin functions are worth the price. It's also a great router.
