But it should be 5 stars.

I paint and sculpt and need a place that is good for all my creative endeavors. This drafting table is great for my needs, has lots of character and looks good. Unfortunately, however, assembly is a bit tedious as some of the pre-drilled holes have failed. This disappointment leads to another disappointment, which is that the finished product isn't quite square. The vertical legs holding the top are not aligned with each other. This is not very noticeable to the eye and does not particularly affect work, but it can be felt when the angle of inclination changes. I have mine in my basement studio and I raised it up a bit to stack with the large cabinet tops on either side for larger projects. Sandwiched between these cabinets less than 1/8 inch apart, it's incredibly obvious when I change the angle that it's not square and I have to push the drafting table to land both feet again. It's a bit annoying since I don't change the viewpoint often, but when I do it's quite frustrating. After all of this, I've been thinking about buying a second easel/drawing/craft table for my basement since my front porch can freeze in the winter. This year I just moved them to the basement but I miss their absence in the basement, the opening between the closets is weird. After reading reviews and prices and looking for something that looks good as well as being durable and functional this is still a top contender but I might go up a size but I think it has more leg room .

Pros
  • Furniture
Cons
  • Ok overall, but...
