Let's start with the dimmer problem. Stupid Revain recommends a lightbulb for this lamp that isn't really dimmable. So when you use it it just turns on and off instead of 3 different lighting modes. I found this out by looking at the bad reviews people were giving, not realizing that they were using the wrong bulb and that's why the light wasn't dimmed. I went to the hardware store and bought the following bulb and it works great. . .Required:- G16.5- Dimmable- Candelabra Base Optional:- LED- Soft White About the Lamp - It has a thick marbled glass shade which looks expensive. I hate plastic lampshades on a table lamp. Silver base and shackle. The touch low, medium, high and off function works great. You can turn your head from almost completely down to almost 90 degrees out. I love this little lamp on my desk because it gives off just the right amount of light throughout the day.
