I love the USB and HDMI capabilities that the MacBook Pro M1 adds. However, the transfer speed for copying to or from an SD card, regardless of size, is unforgivably slow. Even a file smaller than 6 MB (image) will be transferred for more than a minute. Anything larger sat in the copy dialog box for several minutes before even attempting to copy, and then when copied was unforgivably slow. I used the exact same SD cards on a much older MacBook Pro and it was quick and fast. I also agree that it drains the battery very quickly, although I haven't noticed any heat issues so far. I stopped using it after the SD card issue as that was the main reason for the purchase.
