I wanted this to charge a battery for a portable/cordless rechargeable battery tire inflator that I can carry around in the car and not depend on the corded inflation tool that comes in a cigarette lighter socket is plugged in. It had plenty of "juice" to work with, and its small fan is pretty quiet. I connect the charger to the inverter that goes into the cigarette lighter socket, then I connect the battery to the charger. It charges quickly and when it's fully charged I just pop the battery into the inflation tool. That way I never have to worry about the cord or battery drain.
