I've never had a problem with an HP OEM cartridge. This one works great, as do the others. One thing you should understand is that a toner cartridge does more than just hold the toner. It also contains a drum on which the soon-to-be-printed image is formed by the electrostatic deposition of toner. The deposited toner then heats up on the page and forms an image. On the bright side, when you swap out cartridges on these printers, you're replacing a lot of materials that can cause print quality issues. However, if the cartridge is of poor quality, it can cause image quality issues. I haven't experienced any streaks, bald spots on the side, or other issues that I've experienced with cartridges from other manufacturers. The only complaint I have is that the estimated page count is optimistic, but this may be due to the graphic content of my print. Buy a genuine HP toner cartridge. You will not regret it.
