Basically the whole thing is metal so it's obviously solid. It worked like a charm at first. I attached the camera to the shoulder strap and everything was great. I disassembled it and a few days later when reassembling screwed everything back on and tightened it up. Until I had to readjust the position of the handlebars. The wing nut had snapped off and kept spinning so I couldn't loosen my grip on the middle section of the rails. The outlet locked it in place. I had to back off the spring loaded wing nut and use needle nose pliers to turn the screw. If that didn't work I would have had to use a drill and destroy it completely by drilling a wing nut into the bolt to loosen the handle. I sent it back immediately. I will say this might be an isolated case, but just in case I bought another set with comfortable grips. Which brings me to my final minor complaint. As much as I appreciate a metal handle with quarter-20 screw holes to attach more to if needed, squeezing these 10-14 pound rigged handles together starts to hurt my hands over time. The skin on my arms grew sore and calloused even more as I squeezed them hard. Everyone's experience will vary based on rig weight, hand size, etc. So keep in mind everything I said but know Niceyrig makes reliable stuff that I now own and LOVE. This one just wasn't for me.
