Review on OEMTOOLS 24938 Pneumatic Manual Extractor by Rudolph Mceachern

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Check before use - two annoying problems.

Well built and good suction. One big thing is missing - graduations on the canister. There are divisions on the inner cylinder of the pump, but they are absolutely useless. I think they're clearly visible in the picture, but they're a bit hard to read when the pump is out of the canister and certainly unreadable when it's in place. I made my own graduations on the canister by removing the lid and pouring in a liter of water at a time, then writing on it with my PTouch label printer. It was a bit of a hassle because you had to remove and reinstall the pump every time the pump got submerged in liquid. Second, it is advertised as 6 L or 1.5 gallons. They really haven't falsely advertised as that keeps it filled to the brim with the pump installed. I poured in 1.5 gallons and it was about to overflow when I put the pump back in place. For me, such things belong in a USEFUL container. It won't pump out 6 liters or 1.5 gallons, if you turn it off it will stop a bit after 5 liters. This won't be a problem for me, but I find it a bit misleading. Think about it, a 5 gallon can can actually hold 5 gallons and isn't about to overflow. It should be able to extract a full 1.5 gallons before the overflow protection shuts it off. In addition, it has no cap or plug to keep it closed when the hose is removed. I know it's not advertised that way, but it would certainly be nice. For this I fire up my 3D printer to make a plug for the hole/spout.

  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Not the best
