I bought this snowsuit for my 18 month old daughter. I love the fleece-lined interior and the foldable cuffs for arms and legs. (We only use part of the arm as she is wearing snow boots with the suit.). I'd say it's fairly safe for them - we haven't had any issues with snow getting in where it shouldn't - and it keeps them nice and warm in cold weather. For reference, my daughter is about 32.5 inches tall. and weighs 27 pounds. I bought 18-24 months and it fits her comfortably with a layer of clothing underneath. She has enough space to move and grow in it.
