A regular dog bed is required for comfort.

I got this because my dog likes to lie on the cement when it's not too hot, but I don't like him lying with ants and I wanted him to lie somewhere during the winter months so that he does not freeze. (He is a house dog but likes to go out on a covered patio. I ended up buying a regular dog bed the same size as this one and put it on it. He accepted it immediately. The sides of the regular dog bed give room behind him to put his head on place.
