You are incredibly strong! My husband and I mistakenly connected two of these without a protective screen and literally had to search YouTube for a way to separate them. I bought these to find nails behind drywall but for now let's just experiment and play with them. It's worth it. We feel like kids in science class. Update 05/29/19: Be careful with them. My sister walked by and was so intrigued that she tried to hold them together despite being warned about the violence. The distance between them was 3-4 cm, one flew out of her hand so quickly that it hit the other with force and broke into pieces. She was startled, but I'm just glad her finger didn't get in the way because I didn't want her to get hurt. These aren't your grandmother's fridge magnets. Overall I remain happy with the purchase and the strength of the magnets. I used them to find nails left over in my yard from a new build on my house. We found over 50 nails by simply hanging magnets in a bag and hovering above the ground as we walked. We've also used it to run TV cables through the wall. :)
