I have a stall shower where the drain is in the middle of the floor. It was definitely very effective at keeping my hair out of the drain, but it also kept my shower from draining. So every now and then I had to strategically slide over it to drain the water. I never tried to use suction, I just put it on the drain so it was easy to remove. It was as easy to clean as a brush because my hair got tangled in it. I don't need an inch of water on the bottom of my pedestal shower so I would probably buy another product but it does what it says on the tin.
