I'm no expert but this cable seems to do exactly what I wanted it to do. I needed a second HDMI cable to connect 2 upscaling DVD players to the same TV (lots of HDMI ports on the TV). I stole one as it also had RCA cords and was hooked up to a new DVD player. When it arrived I connected it to the first and moved the port the other used (used for HDMI1 for one device). It works well. I don't see any difference in resolution between the two HDMI ports - both use DVD players. I've seen from reviews that initial testing seems good, but issues have been reported when it was moved to another device and then reinserted. This implies some weakness in the cables themselves. As I don't plan on running cables for any length of time, this isn't a big issue for me. All I can say is that I can now use both DVD players in upconverted mode with no problems (apart from both receiving the same remote signals - which is a bit annoying).
