DO NOT BUY 1994 or earlier Sportster.
These panniers appear to be of great quality and offer plenty of storage space for their size, however they will NOT fit my 1988 XLH1200 Sportster due to the location of the rear turn signals. I believe all or most Sportsters made 1994 and earlier have a similar setup, so DO NOT BUY if that applies to you.
