My cat loves this item and it's nice to have a scratching post that doesn't take up space. It also goes well with my closet doors. The "damage free" hanging boards are not entirely undamaged as they have taken some paint from the wall, but only a little. My cat enjoyed ripping off the material with her claws, which eventually ripped the scratching post off the wall. I reattached it, but this time lined up the bottom of the scraper with the ground so that the pressure as you pulled down wasn't just on the adhesive strips. For cats that like a lot of stretching, I would buy two and line one of them up with the floor and then mount the other on top rather than just mounting a scratching post high up. I'll probably buy them again at some point and maybe keep them around the house.
