As a first grader, I cut out LOTS of things - and I mean lots of valuable paper! This thing is so easy to use and has saved me so much time! I love the lines that make it easy to cut out shapes for crafts or anything else that needs to be cut diagonally! I love that it comes with a spare blade, but I don't see a need for it any time soon. I've also found that as long as everything prints evenly, I can lay down 2-3 sheets of paper (even 2 sheets of card stock) and cut it all at once. If you're a teacher or someone who cuts a lot - do yourself a favor and GET IT!
