This cat door works well for my two cats. The fat cat weighs over 20 pounds and looks pretty weird squeezing through her fat body, but she does it and that's all I care about. I had to push her the first time to show her what to do. Two tips: 1. If you use a jigsaw, cut from the ugly side of the door. My saw made a large mark on the door from the skid plate as I spun around. Another option is to attach cardboard to protect the door from the saw blade.2. When I cut directly along the line on the template provided, the door was much smaller than the hole I cut and only a portion of the double sided tape actually touched the door. I suggest cutting 1/2 inch less than the template and trying the door on. Then trim as needed for a closer fit.
