Review on TYC 99-00 Mazda Miata 1.8L L4 A/Mt 1R Pa Rad - Premium Automotive Radiator by Jay Swearengin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fits a Miata with a 6 speed manual despite having two brass brackets for the automatic on the underside.

Perfect for 2004 MX-5 Miata (NB) with 6 speed manual transmission. I took a closer look at the radiator, it didn't have two brass fittings underneath (for automatic transmissions), but they didn't interfere with installation. I was afraid they would interfere with the fans (covers) but they fit like a glove. In the end I brought the fittings together and attached a rubber hose to each end and clamped them (like this: >>>-----------<<<<) to avoid leaks or even enter it . Replaced my original Denso/Mazda radiator due to a micro-crack on the upper plastic part of the radiator. I noticed that the plastic was turning more brown than the dark black of the rest of the cooler. The OEM hoses fit like a glove and generally hold up very well. The only other heatsink that seemed decent was the Mishimoto, but this TYC works fine. Note that nowhere on the packaging, paperwork or the radiator itself is it marked, stamped or stated as being a KOYO or KOYORAD. This is TYC direct brand.
