The adapter was just what I needed to install a new stereo in my 2002 Mitsubishi Galant. It was correct and worked on the first try. I had never installed a car stereo before so I was pleased with how easy it was. This wiring harness plugs into the car (more specifically, a plug in the dash that goes to the car) and the ends of the wires attach to the ends of the wires on the new radio. The wire color coding is standardized, so all I had to do was plug each wire into the appropriate wire end of the connector that came with the new stereo. To connect the stripped ends of the wires, I used crimp connectors and a crimping tool. Other options include twisting the ends of the wires and wrapping them in electrical tape or using twist-on wire caps. But I think crimp connectors are probably the easiest and most reliable way to do it.
