Review on GROHE 26504000 Active 2 Spray Starlight by Amanda Harrell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Two very different features that work great once the flow restrictors are removed.

I used to install a 12 inch rain shower head as a gift for my wife. She liked it a lot, but I missed the concentrated jet of a regular showerhead. We decided to invest in this shower. Head hoping it will satisfy both of us.The two nozzles are completely different and just what we were looking for.Installation is quite easy although very different from any standard fitting.near the slope. The draft insert needs to be attached very tightly to the frame, the shower head is quite heavy. I installed it together with a Grohetherm smartcontrol three-function thermostat. I didn't use the provided diverter, instead I used the two buttons on the smart controller for the shower functions, which makes for a nice clean installation and allows both functions to work simultaneously with individual volume controls if required. For each. I was initially disappointed with the performance until I removed the 1.75 GPM flow restrictors. The chokes contain an o-ring that can be removed to increase flow (perhaps up to 2.5 GPM?), or they can be removed entirely. The documentation that came with it says 6 gpm for the large spray and 5.5 gpm for the medium spray at 43 psi with no throttles. I believe that limiters and a diverter are required for any installation that must pass a US code test.

Pros
  • Maximum Flow Rate 1.75 GPM
Cons
  • Damaged
