Installation made easy for the first time!

This review refers to some items that have been copied into each product review. I recently purchased a Boss Audio Systems BV9351B Boss Audio Double-Din, Bluetooth, DVD/CD/USB/MP3/Wma, FM/AM Receiver for my 2008 Smart Fortwo Convertible and I love it! This is such an upgrade of the standard head unit. The reason I switched to this device is to add Bluetooth/USB ports for charging. I think the device itself is a bargain for the price. Some of the best aspects are the responsive touchscreen, ease of use, and all the listening features. If I were picky, I would change two things. First, I wish the volume button was more responsive when first turned on. I believe this is delayed on purpose in case you accidentally hit the dial. Second, the USB port cannot stream USB to iPod/iPhone. You must use either Bluetooth or an aux port. This was my first module installation and it was easier than expected. All the cords were marked and I bought a great harness that made the job easier. I bought a Metra 70-1783 radio wiring harness for a Smart. It has been color matched and manufactured for a very easy installation. This gave a novice installer like me confidence. For the antenna I used a Metra Electronics 40-VW10 factory antenna for an aftermarket radio adapter for some 1988 to present Audi/BMW/Mercedes/SMART vehicles. It was a simple plug and play adapter. Finally, the dashboard I used to add this OEM look was the Scosche ST2430B 2008 Smart ForTwo Passion/Pure Double DIN or Pocket DIN. There was some extra noise in the kit for storing items, but I bought a double din system. The kit had simple instructions and added a factory look. Just be careful with the included screws as they can damage the brackets if you're not careful. Overall, my first install was easier, faster, and better than I expected. If you use the products from the test, you will not be disappointed!
