I bought these filters for a technology project because the Hoover 201 HEPA filter is an effective and inexpensive product. to remove aerosol particles down to 0.3 microns in size. Imagine my surprise when the first of four filters I bought was only 30% efficient for lab aerosols from 0.3 to 0.5 microns. All 4 filters performed the same, while the old Hoover filter was over 99% efficient as expected for a HEPA filter. Users with respiratory problems will find that these fakes look like the real thing but are very ineffective at filtering out fine particles.
