I don't understand why vacuum cleaner replacement part manufacturers make two piece replacement filters when only ONE part needs to be replaced. An accordion-style paper filter can't be washed more than 1 or 2 times before it falls apart and brushing/vacuuming off dirt/hair does little to help, requiring frequent replacement. But the hard plastic cover with metal screens almost NEVER needs to be replaced. My complaint minimally relates to unnecessary costs for customers. The worst "sin" of this scam is the waste of plastic/metal materials (and air pollution created during the manufacturing process) on a virtually indestructible body that you MUST buy if you want a new paper filter for your vacuum cleaner. .I've never found a better handheld vacuum for removing dog hair from furniture and clothing than this Bissell Pet Hair Eraser handheld vacuum. And the included gray plastic nozzle picks up dirt from the cracks along the baseboard where it hits the carpet like a mini tornado - no nozzle has ever been so good at getting into very tight spaces that can't be fully cleaned. Place. But the filter replacement scam makes me angry at the manufacturers (including Bissell) every time I have to buy one. I use a squeegee and spray bottle more than half the time to get rid of pet hair JUST BECAUSE it saves me from using useless filters too quickly.
