Great product - Z-Wave can be turned on

Very happy with this product. I needed to motorize 15 blinds on the south side of my house. I wanted to control the blinds with a remote control and also be able to connect to my z-wave Homeseer network. The native Z-Wave blinds were too expensive, so I decided to try them. The motors fit snugly into my Levelor blinds - so installation is easy for me. The remote control was a bit difficult to understand. Once you get the hang of it, it goes by quickly. Connect the motor to the remote control, set the direction of the blinds (all mine had to be corrected so that when the 'up' button was pressed they went up instead of down). Then set the upper and lower limits. If you stop here, you've made a really good decision. With the remote control you can control one blind or all blinds at the same time. The performance was stable. I also have solar panels installed and I'm curious to see how they behave in winter. To enable Z-Wave, I use RFXCOM's RFXtrx433XL transmitter along with the HS3 RFXCOM plugin. The setup in Homeseer consists of activating the plugin, adding RFXtrx/RFXrec and then separate output devices (using the BLINDST0 type) for each blind. The address for each output device can be found using the RFXmgr program (included with RFXtrx433xl) and enabling the Blinds0 protocol. These motors look like Rollertrol shutters. Hold the remote close to the RFXtrx433XL and press the up or down button and RFXmgr will read the code. The output device identification code is something like AE 01 and the blind device code on the console is 01 . Curtain 2 on the remote control is 02 with the same ID code. I had some trouble getting RFXmgr to read my remote control code. I removed the RFXtrx433XL from other computer hardware and it worked. I may need to configure the RFXtrx433XL to connect to Homeseer over LAN (google it) if I can't place the RFXtrx433XL in my network closet.
