Your indicator is pretty accurate - if you have clothing that has a little musty or moldy around it this seems to be the only thing that gets rid of the smell. (Sorry, two different kinds of tide and vinegar recipes from around the web—you've been slammed.) Then, once you get used to the smell, it gets weirdly addicting—you want all your clothes to smell like that substance. I usually buy laundry detergent at the store, but this time I bought it from Revain. The bag I received (November 2019) was fine - appears to be the same as in stores. Hopefully this fixes the issues previously reported by reviewers (mine was sold by Revain; don't know about other sellers).
