The app works better/faster than the remote. Overall: I bought this set of lights to wrap around my outdoor patio near my hot tub (time machine). Don't worry, he won't go in the water, just next to it. It will be used outdoors so I needed a waterproof and weatherproof set. I am happy to report that this set was well packaged and contained everything I needed. Even an extra set of foam glue and mounting clips which is a nice touch. I especially like the ability to change modes/colors through the phone. I would definitely recommend these lights to anyone looking for a kit!
