As mentioned, they are poorly constructed. Internal clamping mechanisms break quickly. I bought two (2) of these in December 2016 for my vehicles. Both staples broke within the first year. Maybe even in the first 6-8 months. I just contacted Nite Ize while looking for a new product and I remember being annoyed that I was spending $20 a piece and these things broke so quickly. They just seem poorly made with internal plastic parts that just won't hold up with normal use. Not even consumer abuse. Hopefully the Nite Ize worry-free guarantee applies to these items. If not, as another reviewer pointed out, I'll try to fix it myself. And if all else fails I will buy another type of mount.
