Have been using polar sensors for many years. I have switched from models with fixed batteries to models with removable batteries. However, I was not enthusiastic about the sensitivity of the replaceable battery straps. My old Polar bracelet was worn out. In fact, the rubber clasps that hold the sensor clips in place have decayed. The rubber bushings cracked and started to peel off. I wash the strap after each use, rinse, hang dry and remove the sensor. This seems to be the key to long battery life. If you do not remove the sensor, sweat on the belt will continue to conduct electricity to the electrodes and the system will not stop transmitting a signal. And sweat seems to cause rapid wear on the pickups and pickup if left unwashed. So my old strap was worn out and I opted for this new one. I can only say "Wow". It's much better than the old model. I used to have to wet the sensors to get a sensor, and even then it took about five minutes of exercise for body heat and sweat to trigger the heart rate sensor. This sensor runs dry immediately, with no response delay. The new strap has additional tie-down straps on either side of the chest. It could be a trick. In addition, the clip is no longer a hook, but a simple clip that is easy to insert and remove. Works great with all Precor machines and my elliptical. The battery life should almost double. I can't confirm that as I've only used it for a week. But this week I made it. This is a definite improvement. So if you have an older Polar sensor, trade it in, it's definitely worth it. Fast continuation. I used it with an Android tablet, the bluetooth sensor is perfect. I used it with concept 2, ergo practice, no problem with the bluetooth pickup. I've used it with Precor, no problem. And the pickup is more sensitive. Updated this review October 2018. Monitor capture gets a little flaky. This seems to be a problem with almost all polar monitors. My solution has always been to hand wash the chest strap with soap and water and make sure all sweat is removed from the electrodes. Then I use a Q-tip to clean the latches. I also hand wash my bluetooth cartridge with a sealed battery. I then use the Q-Tip again to thoroughly clean the locking area. This always seems to offer a short-term solution. However, these monitors have a lifespan of about a year. If you change the battery and it doesn't work, try a different battery. I have noticed that many 2025 batteries in brand new packaging bought from a local store have less than half charge.
